MORE CIGARS FOR FATHER’S DAY

In a previous blog post, we at Taylors Tobacconists of Bond Street Brighton recommended some of the finest cigars (Both Cuban and New World cigars) that could make a great gift for Father’s day. In this blog post, we are going to highlight some more of these cigars. In no particular order, please see below for some information on 10 fantastic cigars:

1 – Oliva Serie V (Nicaraguan Cigar): This lovely Double corona develops spicy aromas of cedar and coffee and a full, honest tobacco flavour. To this are added dried exotic fruits and a gentle chocolate sweetness with a nutty note. Very creamy smoke.

2 – Punch Punch (Cuban Cigar): Cedar and earthy aromas,  light leathery note and nutty aromas define this mild to medium strength cigar. A chocolaty sweetness mingles with pleasant bitter and peppery notes in its creamy smoke.

3 – Perdomo Corona (Nicaraguan Cigar): This medium strength cigar, with gentle woody and earthy aromas in its creamy smoke, develops spicy notes and a fine acidity on the palate. It is multifaceted and complex – fresh, nutty, slightly bitter, sweet and fruity with a touch of white pepper.

4 – Gurkha Cellar Reserva (Dominican Republic): A delightful aroma of underbrush, almond aromas, delicate cinnamon and vanilla sweetness and an aromatic herb garden in the smoke. The blend is complex and balanced and the cigar is medium bodied.

5 – Davidoff Toro (Dominican Republic): Fine spices and acidic notes as well as a pinch of pepper accompany the nutty woody aromas of this medium strength cigar. Coffee and almond notes, but also a sweet note of dried fruits are present in the creamy smoke.

6 – Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2 (Cuban Cigar): There are a few soft spots in cigars. To start with it is rather bitter, later sweet with a great draw. Supported by toasty roasted aromas and leather. Towards the end the initially strong cigar becomes perceptible milder and creamy.

7 – Brick House Robusto (Nicaraguan Cigar): Firmly rolled in an oily wrapper, the medium strength cigar mainly produces, in addition to a pleasant sweetness of vanilla and caramel, nutty aromas such as nutmeg, cedar and roasted aromas. Comfortable and harmonious in its creamy smoke

8 – Davidoff Short Corona (Dominican Republic): This small format, very rich in aroma unfurls nutty, woody and also roasted aromas with a pinch of Szechuan pepper. At the same time, the creamy smoke is underscored by sweet notes and fresh spices. Very exciting.

9 – Bolivar Royal Corona (Cuban Cigar): This rustic-seeming cigar is spicy, discreetly sweet and fruity. It also provides woody, nutty and roasted aromas. To this are added coffee notes, a gentle cinnamon sweetness and something of the sharpness of pepper. Medium to strong.

10 – Montecristo Edmundo (Cuban Cigar): Delicate aromas, light toast and cocoa taste and also piquant smoky notes can be detected in this multilayered, mild Robusto. A very harmonious, but at the same time also exciting blend.
