L’ETUI FOR LARGE CALIBERS

Marc Niehaus has developed a new cigar case made from carbon. And it isn’t the usual kind of case – it is made for cigars with large ring gauges. When the case is closed, the two parts press air out of the case so that the cigars stay fresh for up to five days (air-tight, waterproof, unbreakable). The L’Etui C60 has room for three cigars with a ring gauge of up to 60 (22.8mm) including cellophane; the C70 model, even for a ring gauge of 70. At only 60 grams, the cases carry no weight. They are hand-made.

The Balmoral Anejo XO Petit Robusto FT and the Glenfiddich 18 years old Small Batch Reserve offer an extraordinary combination of enjoyment. Combined, the distillate enhances the gingerbread aromas of the cigar and supports the cigar’s sweetness during the course of the smoke. Delicate coffee liqueur notes can also be discovered – a complex, tart-sweet play of spices. Tasting notes on the Balmoral aromas of cedar, cocoa, spices and bitter gingerbread, accompanied by a sweet note. The tasting notes for the Glenfiddich: Nose: notes of calvados, ripe apples, apple pie, wood. Taste: ripe, fruity sweetness, apple pie, soaked raisins, some wood. Finish: long finish on the palate, balanced, wood, some blunt almonds.

Raconteur, a Gran Toro measuring 152 x 23 mm comprises the same tobacco blend as the rest of the line but distinguishes itself in that each cigar features a quote b y Winston Churchill units second ring.
