The Easter Holidays mean that the weather is improving along with more daylight hours. This is an opportunity for any cigar enthusiast or connoisseur to enjoy their favourite type of cigar.

We at Taylors Tobacconists of Bond Street Brighton have compiled a list of our top 10 cigars for the Easter Holidays.

In no particular order we have:

  1. Joya de Nicaragua (Nicaraguan Cigar): Intense cedar aromas with a hint of cloves are in the foreground alongside coffee and cocoa flavours. Aside from this, this cigar unfolds the sweetness of dried fruit, leather and fruity notes before it fades away with chocolate sweetness.
  2. Oliva Serie V (Nicaraguan Cigar): This cigar offers leather and bitter coffee aromas as well as sweet cocoa notes and pepperiness. It also releases herbal spice, ample acidity and roasted aromas. An impressive, multifaceted and harmoniously balanced cigar.
  3. Montecristo Edmundo (Cuban Cigar): From the start, this cigar offers a delicately tart and subtly sweet flavour. In addition, flavours of cocoa, a fine dose of pepperiness, aromas of leather, nuts, and cedar unfolds – a balanced, harmonious blend.
  4. Cohiba Siglo II (Cuban Cigar): In the creamy smoke of this cigar there are cedar aromas, gentle pepper, and a light sugary sweetness as well as coffee aromas. An exciting cigar from a flavour point of view.
  5. Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill (Cuban Cigar): This short, which cigar develops woodiness. Aromas, herbal spice, subtle pepperiness, and a malty note. Then leather aromas as well as a slightly salty caramel sweetness also come through. Overall a very harmonious cigar.
  6. Gurkha Corona (Nicaraguan Cigar): In the creamy smoke texture, an elegant gentle freshness unfolds. The cigar is characterised by woody, nutty and earthy aromas, which are accompanied by pepper and gentle sweetness in the course of the smoke. Fantastically rolled.
  7. Cuban Minis (Cuban Cigarillos): These cuban minis are part of the cuban tradition and they comes in a superb variety  “Puritos, Shorts, Minis, Clubs” from the most prestigious brands manufacturers as “Montecristo, Partagas, Romeo y Julieta and Cohiba”. These have a beautifully silky smoke which combines with a delightful creamy flavour experience. Some pepperiness, cloves, cedar and caramel sweetness make for ample diversity throughout the smoke.
  8. Rocky Patel Decade (Nicaraguan Cigar): In the first few draws, this cigar offers almond and earthy notes with a peppery kick and a light salty note. Then, birch, bread aromas, espresso and caraway spice come up before it becomes sweeter at the end.
  9. AJ Fernandez Blend Robusto (Nicaraguan Cigar): This beefy Robusto is perfectly rolled and builds up a magnificent tower of ash. Opulent wood aromas, a proper pinch of pepper, and tart citrus notes largely dominate. Towards the end, spicy wood is in the foreground.
  10. Nub Tubos (Nicaraguan Cigar): Gentle chocolate, vegetal and roasted aromas along with the scent of bread and a nutty flavour give this cigar its character. Above all, halfway through, a pleasant sweetness develops, which is later again superseded by peppery spice and roasted aromas.
