THE BEST SUMMER CIGARS

Summer is one of the most exciting times for cigar smokers to enjoy the finest cigar blends in the fresh air or during outdoor sports events like golf, horse-racing, fishing and many more. This is the perfect time to find harmony and socialise by spending some quality time with family and friends.

We at Taylors Tobacconists have suggested below 10 summer cigars which have that “je ne sais quoi” while bringing fun to your day. In no particular order, the best 10 summer cigars are:

1 – Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill (Cuban Cigar): The woody and nutty aromas blend well with the gentle fruity, the floral aromas and the slightly salty undertone in the creamy smoke.

A mild, finely spiced and elegant cigar.

2 – H Upmann Connaisseur (Cuban Cigar): This cigar develops roasted aromas of coffee and notes of bitter chocolate, is slightly sweet and full bodied, earthy and elegant. Wood notes and earthy aromas combine with a tart taste in the creamy smoke. Medium bodied, complex and spicy.

3 – Alec Bradley Corona (Honduras Cigar): This cigar is spicy, sweet, fruity and creamy in the smoke. The nutty and woody aromas are rather inconspicuous; later the taste of milk coffee and a little bit of chocolate comes through. A pleasant, medium bodied cigar.

4 – Cohiba Siglo II (Cuban Cigar): This lovely cigar develops woody aromas with delicate acidic elements, fresh notes of eucalyptus and a delicate sweetness.  Later these are joined by nut aromas and a peppery sharpness.

5 – Gurkha Robusto (Dominican Republic): This large, mild cigar has a honey-like sweetness and a creamy smoke, which is reminiscent of tiramisu. Also rather bitter espresso notes and a touch of tartness, as well as a certain sharpness are discernible.

6 – Partagas Serie D4 (Cuban Cigar): Alongside woody and fine almond aromas and a discreet sweetness, the cigar develops plenty of fruity aroma with a fine touch of acidity. It is medium strength, gaining considerably in strength in the second half.

7 – Montecristo Double Edmundo (Cuban Cigar): Gently mossy tones of underbrush, cedar and nut aromas combine in the milky, creamy smoke with a pleasant acidity, slightly salty, buttery taste, fine spices and a hint of chill. A medium strength cigar.

8 – Cohiba Exquisito (Cuban Cigar): This elegant format develops bittersweet notes of dark chocolate and nougat, paired with a generous pinch of pepper. Some test cigars were judged as being one of the smoothest of cuban cigars. Medium blend is very pleasant to the palate.

9 – Partagas Serie 6 (Cuban Cigar): The cigar develops floral aromas of fresh and dried grass, followed by gentle bitter almond aromas, a sweet, fruity note and a touch of menthol. It grows stronger throughout the smoke.

10 – Vegafina Robusto (Dominican Republic): The sandy wrapper lends the cigar a fruity sweet note; the bitter notes seem to come from the filler. To this is added cloves, sweet and acidic flavours – almost like fruit loaf.
