VegaFina History

The brand VegaFina, considered one of the world’s premium cigar brands,  celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2018. Launched in Spain in 1998 by the cigar company Tabacalera, a leading Habanos distributor, VegaFina has become the best-selling premium cigar brand in the nation.

With a wide range of cigars handcrafted in Tabacalera de Garcia (Dominican Republic), VegaFina is known for offering consumers cigars of a very high and consistent quality. This is the result of a long and careful process, combining the selection of the best tobacco leaves with the mastery of expert Dominican torcedores.

Each of its three lines, Classic, Fortaleza and Nicaragua, provides passion to the smoking experience with a great taste for every occasion. VegaFina enriches its portfolio annually with new launches based on consumer trends as well as special editions.

Gran Conserva For A Special Year

To commemorate such a distinct occasion, VegaFina launched 7000 limited edition numbered boxes that unveils the first Gran Reserva of the brand.

It’s a cigar in a unique Vitola named 20 Aniversario (54 x 146mm, finished with a pigtail) which has been created by the Grupo de Maestros of Tabacalera de Garcia and handcrafted by an expert team of the factory’s torcedores. Carefully selected Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco leaves, aged for at least five years, have been used.

Pedro Ventura, operations and product development manager, and member of the Group de Maestros explains: “We have been working on the selection of the leaves and their aged process over the past few years, knowing that 2018 was going to be VegaFina’s year”.

The result was spectacular, the composition of the blend and its careful paging in the cedar rooms has resulted in a very rich and complete cigar. It was also able to maintain the strength and balanced flavour of the VegaFina classic line, which stands out for its intense woody aroma and rich flavour, full of nuances.

VegaFina Gran Reserva 20 Aniversario, comes in an exclusive and elegant black lacquered box. Its design enhances both the name of the brand and the logo, which was created for the occasion of its 20th anniversary. The logo is also represented on the special cigar rings that dress the 10 cigars that the box contains.
